About Ensase

Community-based childcare, play and family support — co-created with communities.

Our Journey

Ensase grew from the Amara Initiative — a grassroots effort to create safe spaces for children after crises. Over time, the project evolved into a community organisation focused on sustainable childcare, play-based learning, and caregiver support across multiple regions.

Advisory Board

A group of local leaders, ECD experts, and community representatives guiding Ensase’s strategic direction.

Management Team

A small, passionate team led by field coordinators and supported by volunteers and partners.

Our Focus: Early Childhood Development (ECD)

We prioritise areas that matter most to early growth and family wellbeing.

  • Play-based learning — building literacy, numeracy and social skills through guided play.
  • CareCircles — play-based bonding in communities affected by displacement.
  • Safety & security — basic first aid and child safety practices.
  • Good health & nutrition — healthy meals, growth monitoring and referrals.
  • Responsive caregiving — caregiver support and training.

Our Approach

We work with communities to co-create solutions and build local capacity so that programs continue beyond initial support.

Co-creation: Engaging parents and community leaders to design activities.
Capacity building: Training caregivers and volunteers to sustain activities.

Our Impact
